Significant features

– The Toyota GR 86 is the third model in the GAZOO Racing series of sports cars, including the GR Supra and GR Yaris.

– A larger, more powerful horizontally opposed boxer engine, with an increase in displacement from 2.0 to 2.4 litres.  Maximum power is boosted to 173kW and torque is now 250Nm, with a choice of six-speed manual or automatic transmissions.

Toyota GR Yaris

The new Toyota GR Yaris will storm onto the local market as a single high specification model, with an introductory price of $39,950 – limited to the first 1,000 launch vehicles sold.  Online and in-dealer reservations started on the 23 September 2020, with the car arriving in November 2020.  A limited edition model designed for circuit racing is due next year, called the GR Yaris Rallye.

Toyota Supra 2019

It’s been 17 long years since the Supra featured in the Toyota range, when production of the fourth generation A80 Supra ceased in 2002.  The Supra, especially the A80 model, built an impressive reputation as one of the finest performing sports-cars for the road and an all-conquering machine on the racetrack.  The next Supra has finally arrived and is the fifth generation A90 model of this car and the first to be sold under the Toyota GAZOO Racing branding.

Toyota Sales

Toyota Australia enjoyed a bumper year in 2018, having sold 217,061 vehicles.  The brand has been the market leader for 16 years in a row and 2018 represented the fourth straight year of rising sales for the car manufacturer.

Key statisitcs

– The HiLux was Australia’s best-selling vehicle for the third year in a row with 51,705 deliveries.

Toyota Supra

The Toyota Supra built an impressive reputation as one of the finest performing sports-cars for the road and an all-conquering machine on the racetrack.  It’s been 16 long years since the Supra featured in the Toyota range. A one off Toyota GR Supra Racing Concept was unveiled at the Geneva International Motor Show earlier this year and a camouflaged production version made its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
