After roughly 18 months, my 1990 Nissan 300ZX is finally ready for registration in a couple of weeks’ time. Previous repairs on the car can be found here: Nissan 300ZX Z32 Repairs. The car was recently at the mechanic where the following work was carried out:
– New ignition barrel.
– New fuel filter.
– New oil filter.
– New radiator coolant.
– New semi synthetic engine oil. (10W-30)
– Flush and replace brake fluid.
– Front washer jet repaired.
– Number plate globe replaced.
– Wheel bearing replaced.
– Wheel stud replaced.
– Original exhaust refitted.
– Clutch slave cylinder replaced.
– CD player installed.
When the car was recovered and taken to an auction yard, the insurance assessor mentioned that there were no structural issues with the car. As it turns out, both chassis rails had a moderated amount of damage to them, resulting in the rails needing to be repaired for the car to pass a roadworthy inspection.
The 300ZX is now booked in for registration at VicRoads. I can’t wait to have it back on the road again, with the hope of getting to a few track days in the not-too-distant future!
