The Genesis GV70 was launched in 2021 and has recently had a mid-life update. Available with three different engine choices, including an electrified version, a 2.5L turbo four-cylinder and a 3.5L twin-turbo V6, Genesis provides an alternative for buyers in the competitive mid-size luxury SUV segment.
In late August, Genesis Magma Racing began the extensive on-track testing program for the GMR-001 Hypercar, with five days of running at Circuit Paul Ricard. The testing starts the exhaustive development schedule to prepare for the team’s debut in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) in 2026.
The Genesis car brand continues to grow, with the addition of new Test Drive Centres and Studios throughout Australia and the addition of new models. The current Genesis model line-up includes the G70, G80, Electrified G80, GV60, GV70, Electrified GV70 and GV80.
Genesis Motors Australia has opened its second flagship Studio, at the Emporium Melbourne (shopping centre) in the heart of Melbourne’s vibrant CBD. It joins Genesis’s existing Studio in Sydney’s Pitt Street Mall.

The recently released Genesis GV80 is Genesis’ first attempt at an SUV and joins the G70 and G80 sedans. There are four different GV80 models with three different engine choices.
Many prestige cars are currently offered in today’s market, including the BMW 3 Series, Jaguar XE, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Lexus IS, Audi A4 and Infiniti Q50. South Korean manufacturer Genesis has recently entered into the prestige market with the G70 3.3T. Genesis isn’t a widely known manufacturer in Australia, but is the luxury division of Hyundai.
