Honda NSX Tensei

Significant features

– The Tensei is a modern interpretation of the original Honda NSX, built by Pininfarina and JAS Motorsport.

– Only 35 will be built, with each one customised for its owner and built at JAS Motorsport’s facility near Milan.

– Every car starts life as a donor NSX before being stripped down and rebuilt by JAS, with Pininfarina-designed carbon-fibre bodywork.

– Weight of the Tensei is only 1250kg.

– Retains the iconic pop-up headlights, with modern LED technology.

– Wider stance and longer wheelbase than the original.

– Chassis reinforced at key points including the A and B pillars and central tunnel.

– Powered by a naturally aspirated 3.5 Litre V6 engine producing 317kW and an 8500rpm redline, built by JUDD and based off the NSX’s original Honda C30A block.

– Engine features short stroke steel crank, lightweight alloy heads, aggressive cams, titanium valves, individual throttle bodies, carbon fibre intake plenum, dry sump lubrication and an Inconel exhaust.

– Rear wheel drive with a six-speed manual gearbox and mechanical Torsen limited slip differential.

– Forged centre-lock wheels, 245/35 19 profile at the front and 285/30 20 profile at the rear.

– Adjustable KW dampers and Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes.

– Electric power steering.

– Interior is like the layout of the original NSX, with added carbon fibre, leather, Alcantara, titanium and an analogue tachometer.

– Costs £770k plus the donor car.

– JAS Motorsport and Pininfarina will show the finished Tensei publicly for the first time at the 2026 Paris Motor Show.
