Happy New Year everyone! It’s fair to say that 2020 had some big highs but was also hugely challenging personally. I think it’s a good opportunity to provide an update on the plans for Automotive Torque for the first half of 2021.
Firstly, I managed to obtain my first sponsor, Mishimoto Automotive, in late 2020. They are leaders in performance cooling products, specialising in aluminium radiators, intercoolers, oil coolers and silicone hoses and are sponsoring my Nissan 300ZX through the TeamMishi sponsorship program. Being sponsored enables access to exclusive discounts on products and the vehicle featured on the Mishimoto website. I’ve already got two hose clamps for the 300ZX at a discounted price and hope to get a new Mishimoto radiator soon.
I completed another Tampered Motorsport track day at Sandown late last year in the 300ZX. It was a really hot day and unfortunately I didn’t improve on my personal best time. Hopefully I can get to a lot more of these in 2021, as coronavirus meant that a lot of these track days had to be cancelled throughout 2020.
Due to the impacts of coronavirus last year, it was difficult to obtain new cars to review. I reviewed two cars before the lockdown hit in Victoria. The first new car review this year will be of the Genesis GV80, the brand’s first SUV, and this will take place in late January. I’m also hoping to review a Toyota GR Yaris in February, with the hope of taking the car to the Targa High Country.
The number of views and visitors to the website grew substantially last year, so thanks to everyone for their support. I hope that you all have a great 2021!
