Jean Alesi at the Monaco Historic Grand Prix 2021

My favourite ever Formula 1 driver, Jean Alesi, returned to drive for Ferrari at the Monaco Historic Grand Prix 2021, held over the 23-25 April.  Alesi raced in 201 Formula 1 races from 1989-2001, with his only win coming at the 1995 Canadian Grand Prix, at the wheel of a Ferrari 412 T2.

The fuel crisis of the early-to-mid 1970s changed the performance automobile landscape for many countries.  The majority of heavy-hitting American muscle cars were emasculated – strangled through weaker fuel, conservative carburation and lower compression ratios, dropping specific power to depressing new lows.

Ferrari Superamerica

A rare low kilometre Ferrari Superamerica that’s currently on display at the Gosford Classic Car Museum in New South Wales is up for auction on 26 May 2018 at the Ultimate Classic Car Auction at Pickles Belmore.  The Ferrari is one of six Australian delivered models and there were only 559 produced in total.  This particular Superamerica is finished in ‘Rosso Corsa’ with tan leather interior and features the paddle operated F1 transmission.  Continue reading “Ferrari Superamerica”
